After nearly 30 years as a chef, much of it spent cooking on superyachts around the world, I found myself longing for something more—a challenge that would take me in a new direction and allow me to create something lasting. For years, my life revolved around preparing meals that, while crafted with passion and precision, were enjoyed in a fleeting moment. I wanted to build something that would endure, something that reflected not just my skills, but my vision.
Cooking had been my world, and I am deeply grateful for all it gave me. The kitchen taught me discipline, creativity, and attention to detail—qualities that I now bring to Sereno. But life on the water often kept me far from home, my family, and most importantly, my wife. It was time for a change. I wanted freedom, and I wanted to create something that resonated beyond the confines of a plate.
That’s where Sereno was born.

Sunglasses have always been a personal passion of mine, almost an extension of who I am. I’ve always liked the subtle protection they offer, allowing me to keep a bit of privacy while navigating the world. When I decided to take the leap and start Sereno, it felt like a natural fit. I wasn’t just starting a business—I was embarking on a new life. One where I could combine my love for eyewear with a desire to build something meaningful and lasting.
Sereno became a new outlet for my creativity, guided by the same values I held as a chef: craftsmanship, quality, and authenticity. Our sunglasses are produced in limited quantities and entirely manufactured in Italy. I wanted to create something better—something meaningful for both myself and our clients. For me, the best way to ensure quality is to keep it local, supporting Italian artisans and preserving traditional methods. Sereno is my tribute to Italian craftsmanship, with every pair ‘fatto a mano in Italia’—handmade in Italy—using the finest materials and time-honored techniques.
